What up with the article about a place greak for canoers and yakkers? Heard it was in SWTR?

This was taken from the Decision On Park At West End Lease Put On Hold article by Ben Boulden in the August 10, 2010 SWTR:
The Fort Smith Parks and Recreation Commission on Wednesday put off a decision until September on whether to recommend the city continue operating The Park at West End.
It also unanimously approved an easement for a water trail entry way that will give canoers and kayakers better access to the Arkansas River in Fort Smith.

The water trail system will most likely be managed by the River Projects division of the US Army Corps of Engineers- St. Louis District. It will be run similiar to the water trail system already in place on the Mississippi River. It is quite an experience to lock through a dam on a major river like the Arkansas River.
