Crane, I know you married us, but are you trying now to get us divorced? Gee!

What Roger left out was that last year's winning dish was something your grandmother might have served: roasted chicken with vegetables and herbs. I won't say who dished it up--but if he thought it was inferior, he never said anything at home. :poke: I think second place was brownies--I think. I'm trying to remember what third was, dessert or entree. Does someone else remember? Anyway, traditional, homey dishes can do well compared to dump cake cobblers.

I think my comment was a dig at the time I won... by the vote of Roger's own, dear, sweet, loving, Mother, who showed the true mark of a fine judge by picking me over him!! What a great day!! Crane

Roger's mom continues to blame the verdict on "that cute boy" (Yoshio). (Did I spell that right?) Of course, I was there too, and I *know* how she voted.

I think he thought his was better than mine last year too.

(As he turns to leave, a look of concern slowly replaces the smug attitude as the reality of the situation sets in and whatifness invades his reasoning.)
You sure this is on the right channel?

If he competes, my money is on Bob Stout. I've had the good fortune to sample his cuisine before, and have always been impressed.

If I'm allowed to bet on three men at once, I'd bet on Roger, Crane, or PaPa Bob to win too. It's always fun to compete, if just to get to taste what they cook and get first dibs on margaritas.

I'm not cookin'!! I'm merely organizing and stirin' the cooks! This last week, I received a package from Lodge that, I assume, contains some goodies for prizes... for other folks! My personal money, should I accept a wager, would be on Dave Reid, Bobby Stout, and Roger Head... as a Trifecta... Crane

maybe roger, bob and I should team up on at least one dish.

It is difficult for me to compete with Bob since he and I cook DO dishes together most all the time

There is no prohibition against a team entry... But, where's the fun? And, we need the leftovers (if any) for the Potluck supper... CRane

Roger, I understand that Steve Sheppard is bringing in a ringer! From our conversation, it would be reasonable for all of you entrants to sharpen up your skills AND YOUR PRESENTATION! This is your fair warning... Whooping this flat-belly DO chef won't be the cruise down the Cadron that whooping me might be!! You have been warned!! Now, I'd like to see y'all step up and bring your DO-game... Crane

Who you callin' a Yankee?!? I wonder if anyone else is planning on using a canoe as part of their cooking setup... 8)
