The meeting place traditionally is the 13th St bridge in Murfreesboro which is the take out.
As you take hwy 26 into Murfreesboro...when 26 turns to the left across from the little Mexican restaurant, you should continue "straight" onto 13th St. Follow this road until you get to the river...don't cross the bridge. Meet on the near side of the river, right side of the road to park and set shuttle. Parking is limited so plan accordingly so that as many can park as possible while still leaving room for others who may need to come and go. Don't park too close to the river as it will be a good bit higher after the generators come on!
It is also a good idea to check out the eddy area there to make sure it is clear of any debris. You all will need to catch this eddy to take out, and it can be a little challenging. We always get some strong boaters to eddy out there first and get out of their boats to help pull others in, and no doubt you all will do something similar on your trip.
I would suggest you meet about noon at the 13th St bridge to consolidate people and boats. Then head to the dam off Hwy 19, gear up and be ready to ride the surge down when they start releasing at 1pm.
Of course, these are just my suggestions! I'm just trying to get a vicarious thrill from planning the trip even though I can't make it!!!
Edited to add: oh how long? Well if I was coming I would say we would be running shuttle at the end of the day just about as the sun is setting, but that's because I like to play and goof off all the way down the river. You all may do the trip a good bit faster without a lollygagger such as myself along!
