Solo Canoe wanted
Solo Canoe wanted
Would like to add a solo boat to the stable but would like to see what might be out there used.
Not looking for a WW playboat but also not looking for a flatwater rec boat. Something with a little rocker, sort of a moving water boat that can be paddled with or without a night or two's camping gear. Wenonah Argosy? Bell Yellowstone? Something under 15 ft that I can handle solo, perhaps?
Whatcha got?

Sounds like an Odyssey 14 would be a good fit for you. The Mohawk Odyssey 14's functional styling combines flared-sides for a dryer ride and exceptional final stability. A tuck-in narrows the center section to make solo paddling easier on the upper body. The Mohawk Odyssey 14 canoe is nimble and fun to paddle, especially on twisty rocky rivers streams. I have one available for demo in Fayetteville if you're interested.

I'd like to demo the Odyssey 14. Any chance you'll have it in Fort Smith sometime soon?

Sure thing Owl! Just send me an email or pm me with info on when you would like to demo it, and I'll make sure to have it waiting on ya. Also, keep your eyes peeled for a Mohawk Canoe Demo Day coming this fall.

Re: Solo Canoe wanted
owl, we actually just built an odyssey 14 yesterday. it may be exactly the type of boat that you would be interested in. the only issue is that i have it in fayetteville. my schedule is very flexible and would be able to meet up with you at some point for a demo. i currently also have a solo 14 on my canoe rack that, depending on water levels and intended use, would make a great boat for someone. just let me know if you would like to see one or both of these boats, there are several of each sitting in the factory in ft. smith just waiting to be built.
another boat that may be worth taking a look at would be an xl 14 set up with a single seat, but no saddle. this would make for a great class 2+ tripping boat. The odyssey is a very good looking boat however, and would be great for any of our area rivers at most levels.

Re: Solo Canoe wanted
I'm in Fayetteville as well and would like to check out your Odyssey. Sent you a p.m.
Re: Solo Canoe wanted
took the odyssey out to lake weddington for a moonlight paddle on saturday night. the boat paddles really nicely, tracks incredibly well. i am looking forward to the opportunity of taking one down the buffalo for a night or four.
Re: Solo Canoe wanted
Check out two brothers canoes. I have the Arkota and love to paddle it by myself but I have the ability to use it tandem if needed. 4" rocker and it is fun to paddle.
Re: Solo Canoe wanted
We already own three diverse tandem boats, so I'm not very drawn to getting a small tandem to paddle solo and I don't see that Two Brothers offers anything 14 ft or under with some rocker, etc. But all I've done is look at their website.

I really think you're going to enjoy paddling the Odyssey 14. After you take it for a demo paddle be sure and post your thoughts on it. I'm interested to hear how it handles for you. The Wiz's schedule is probably pretty full, but he'll get you taken care of a-sap.

Re: Solo Canoe wanted
I'll have an XL 15 at Rendezvous that you're welcome to demo. In addition, I'll also be bringing an Odyssey 14 and Odyssey 15 along with about half a dozen other boats. Feel free to demo'em all! (: Mohawk Canoe Demos will be available on Saturday at Lake Catherine and on Sunday at the Ouachita River from Remmel Dam down. Demos at other times are available upon request. I'll be posting Sunday's 9/11/10 float trip departure time soon.
Re: Solo Canoe wanted
If you are still looking I have a 14' Solo Mohawk ODYSSEY red C-1, weighs 49 lbs. Rollalite ABS, one paddle, 2 matching flotation air-bags, very responsive in the water, and in great condition (Garage kept). Mike 479-925-1557 or k1herbert@att.net in Rogers area.
