Well a week later I got another paddle, but it had some blemishes in it, So I knew I would need to do some work on it before it was sea worthy! I came to work tonight and sat and thought about it, I did not really want to sand and lacquer a hand full of small spots! I came up with a descent idea and that lead to a quick and easy paddle repair kit that anyone could fit in a thwart bag or bow or stern bag!
This is for wood paddles BTW!
So I got my hands on some sand paper here at work, I got some finer grit and sanded the small spots that needed touching up, And then to reseal it, Instead of doing the recommended lacquer job of 2 to 3 coats of 10%, then 1 coat of 30% then 50% then 100% to finish it off... I used super glue...
Its an epoxy, does its best job on smooth surfaces, drys clear and comes in handy small bottles!
So now in my emergency repair kit, when a paddle gets a nick though the lacquer into the wood, I have a few strips of sand paper three or four inches long by two inches wide, and two things of super glue... fits in to my first aid kit that I bring with me where ever I go out side and you can use the super glue for other things as well! Like liquid stitches!!!! or putting your boat back together

anyways, just wanted to pass on my light bulb!
Good paddling
