Will this vacation never end???

No, wait, now I see. what's really going on. These guys are really just holed up somewhere here local - Lazer's truck is hidden in a barn; they're sneaking in to work and slowly feeding us photographs from their last two or three vacations...

Maybe we need one of those "hostage" photos where they hold up a newspaper showing a current headline to prove they're really where they say they are...

Sorry, but do you know how hard it is to edit video while ON vacation. We moved south for better weather and water levels and been running daylight to dark.

Actually Episode 3 has been done since the weekend but I have had no internet service to upload it.

Should have plenty of time to finish editing the final 3 episodes on this 2000 mile drive home we are starting now... some great footage to come...

Episode 3

Sorry for the delay, had some small tech problems and was too tired to fight them. Episode 4 captures our overnighter on Giant Gap of the American. Probably the highlight of the trip. The video does not capture this at all. Most of the great rapids did not get filmed (Too hard to film and paddle) and I struggled with making a music selection. I am trying to use songs that reference California. There are Thousands of them, but I do not like most of them or feel they do not match the video's tempo.

This is the song Bryan Pinnell wanted me to use. It is his new favorite song. He was singing it all trip.

This is the direction I went
Episode 4

Episode 5 and 6 should but up in a few days and will be the paddle porn everyone wants to see

Nice (good choice of music too)....had to wait "in line" to view it but it gave me some time to listen to Bryan's new theme song.

I agree, great choice of music... I just couldn't get into Bryan's song quite as much.. Can't go wrong with those Chili Peppers though :) Nice work. I'm looking forward to the upcoming episodes.

Ok folks, Episode 5 is the paddle porn I promised. Loud, rowdy music and more boofs then you can shake a paddle at.

I am surprised at how the South Yuba, which boats so good, looks better on video than the Upper North Fork of the Kaweah which was a more technical and challenging creek, and was on the high end of recommended flows. I thought I had more footage of the Upper K but guess I was too busy, scouting, portaging and paddling.

The Finale, Episode 6, coming in a couple of days. It should be as good with runs on the Lower NF of the Kaweah and Brush Creek of the Kern and a visit to the giant trees in the Sequoia Nation Forest.

well hell yes we did! really good trip, sad part is that we got only about 5% on video and the most impressive rapids we ran are only for our memories!! Cali is kayaker paradise if you carry ur balls with ya! Lotsa whitewater to choose from! Most of it burly!

Well, the final installment, Episode 6 is finally done. I had more footage of Brush Creek then I thought so running time is almost 10 minutes.

Between the trips to Cali for snowboarding and now the kayaking, I think I just need to go ahead and move out there.

Enjoy
