Need MO info - cool float 6/19 or 6/20?

Would like to float (easy, I or II+) in lower part of Missouri this weekend. It would be nice if the water temp was not 80. I have looked at the Current River but do not know much about it.

Suggestions?

You could try going from the arm of Table Rock lake near Eagle Rock to the town of Beaver, and paddle up the White River, and float back. White River is definitely not too warm there below the dam.

Current, Jack's Fork, Eleven Point, North Fork, Bryant Creek, to name a few.

The White River tailwaters are good for trout fishing, IMHO.

Water Bug, I just moved from MO and have paddled numerous streams from Shoal Creek in Joplin to numerous sections of the Current River and the St Francis. Here is my opinon for what it is worth.

I personally would not float the Current River unless it was in the off season because of all the wahoo's (and I do mean WAHOO's). Shoal Creek just south of Joplin is nice but be aware of strainers. One of my Fav's is Flat Creek just south of Aurora on Hwy 39. You could float from Hwy 39 bridge to Hwy "EE" MDC access. Watch for snakes and many of them. Or float from Hwy "EE" to Flat Creek Rd bridge (My favorite section).

Bryant Creek is also one I like to float. Not a lot of outfitters on it but a nice section from Hodgson Mill Access to Warren Bridge. All of these are spring fed streams and usually are cool water. If you float Shoal Creek look at the levels and make sure they are around 2.8ft at the Joplin gauge, Flat Creek 3.9ft at the Jenks gauge, and BryantCreek at 3.3ft or higher.
