Justin just called me... He is on his way south and checked out Clear Creek and Cedar Creek to see if they were running.

Clear Creek from Schaburg down is running

Cedar Creek is NOT running

Made a quick run on Clear from Chester to Mountainburg on Saturday and it was a blast. Evidently we road the crest as the level dropped while we were on our run.

It was great. Water looked like chocolate milk so you couldn't see any rocks, etc. Lots of trees in the water and some channels seemed new with one that appeared to be choked off.

Saw a wrapped canoe on a railroad bridge piling. Looked pretty ugly. Hope the boaters are OK!!!

We saw the boys walking the field back to the put in as we
were heading to Shaeburg for a second run yesterday.
Both were hanging on to paddles, so I guess they were ok.
Can't speak for their cooler.

Isn't that like screaming for quiet?

Anybody thinking about Clear Creek this afternoon? Gimme a yell. I've been wanting to do this one for a while, and would prefer to go with somebody that is familiar. -Tony

it was my first time to run it so I don't know any of the rapid names, but it was maybe a half mile below the Shaburg put-in. Might be a triple drop normally, but it was just one massive drop/wavetrain on saturday.

Actually come to think of it, Paddledog did tell me about how one of the double drop rapids got the name "the happy place" from some hippie chick.
