Lower Buffalo River Gauge Question
If I am looking at the gauge at Pruitt, what would be a good level to see if the lower half of the buffalo river would be floatable?
I have done the upper half of the river a ton of times, but was hoping to do some exploring on the lower end. I just don't know if I will be dragging my canoe all the way down. Thanks in advance for any information.

Great site, thanks for the info. Unfortunately it looks like everything will be too low to float by Friday. Thanks again!

You'll still be good in the hwy 65 and 14 areas. aka St Joe and Harriet, Tyler Bend and Buffalo Point.
A tad low but still good. Not a lot of current. Just keep it short and/or give yourself plenty of time.

Do NOT do the Kyle's to Pruitt trip until we get more rain. I have done that several times and today was not great.......Of course ANY day on the river is better than being anywhere else.

Hey Clif,
That's a great new page. How long has it been active? Hadn't seen it before. Already added it to my fav's.

Not sure how long. Someone showed it here a month or 2 ago. It has all the info I used to hit 3 pages to confirm... cool.

Re: Lower Buffalo River Gauge Question
I have made the same mistake of trying to float up around Kyle's Landing when the water was too low and I won't be making that mistake again.
Thanks for the info Clif, any suggestions on a stretch I should check out on that end of the river? I should be starting pretty early on either Friday or possibly Friday and Saturday if my fiancee and I decide to camp. If we do camp it will just be base camping and then getting ourselves shuttled back and forth. Thanks for all the help.

Re: Lower Buffalo River Gauge Question
Richland creek confluence at Woolum kinda amps up the river volume. Baker Ford to Gilbert gets a bit "touristy" on weekends... not a Friday prob though. Did Tyler Bend to Gilbert last Wed and only saw 3 or 4 other boats.
Lots of springs and some interesting stuff to see at Rush. I dunno, it all has good points.

I really appreciate all of the info, I think we are going to plan on floating Bakers to Tyler Bend on Friday and Tyler to Gilbert on Saturday. I hope everybody gets out there and enjoys this great weather.
