play boating east of arkansas

Have some time to kill next week was wondering where some good play boating would be east of here? Willing to drive a ways

the occoee or rock island come to mind rockisland is near mcminnville tenn check boatertalk.com

The ocoee has more releases due to a rockslide that crushed the flume for the power house, looks like it may be awhile before the flume is repaired, so go get you some ocoee. Lots of folks to boat with out there. Have fun! :beer:

Yea, what Time said! Best playground around.

If you take 72E out of Memphis you can knock an hour or so off the trip as opposed to going 40 to Nashville and 24 to Chattanooga. Unless you drive Eighty-five like some do.
Rock Island is a park and play but I don't know if it's running. E or call the Jackson's of kayak fame and they will tell you more as it's just down the road from their house. Last I heard their were no scheduled releases due to the lake level. But that's been a few months. Tripped by there once myself to no water. What a bummer. Got to visit the Jackson's however. :clap:
