Where is a rapid
Where is a rapid
Does anyone know of a rapid I can drive up tp and play in close to Fort Smith. Cant seem to get away from the kiddos long enough to try out my new boat?
Re: Where is a rapid
Probably the closest and funnest spot to Fort Smith is Hamm Falls. Go to Campbell's Cemetery and you can paddle up stream about 1/2 mile to a nice surfable rapid. Carry up a little further on river right and you can get to Hamm's.
We've dropped boats off at Milton and then driven to Campbell's and walked back up to the boats several times this spring. It can all be done easily in a couple of hours.
Drive time from the Fort to Campbells is probably 50 minutes tops.
The short run on Lee Creek from the 220 bridge to the ACC/FS take out is a pretty fun little play run but it's a little low right now.
