Want to IK the grand canyon?

Post by duckieboater » Wed Apr 07, 2010 6:05 pm

A really good friend of mine got a grand canyon permit for May of 2011 (yes, next year), and I am going to go down it in my Lynx. Anyone out there with an IK that would like to accompany me? I have one passenger/kayaker spot left. Of course we will have raft support, I figure I will get tired of swimming the canyon after a while. :) I will be at canoe school end of the month, look for the purple duckie.

I am not familiar with your boat, but I assume it is a river running kayak. I was hoping to have a mini duckie flotilla, but looks like IKs are kind of rare around here. Anyway, my nephew is coming along, rowing a raft, but going to bring his hard shell kayak along also. Plans on kayaking while others take the oars on his raft. We can probably find one of the rafters willing to carry your kayak when you tire of paddling. My plan (mine since I am organizing this trip) is to have 7 rafts. Got 4 or 5 right now, so will probably have someone to carry yours.
You could always rent a Lynx IK from Ceiba! See you at TB.

Yeah Ryan, the Hero is a river runner and I am capable of paddling class IV IV+ water with it.I have ran some good stuff in Colorado,Tennessee,Oklahoma, and here in Arkansas.Should be able to handle everything on the Grand. But ya know them large rafts are starting to look good,it would be great to have for taking family members or friends to introduce them to our world of water! What section of the Grand are you planning for?
