It's been a great summer fishing all over AR and LA. Had another great trip last weekend.

Hey PW,

I enjoyed reading your fishing report(s)! Nice pictures and good narratives, I especially like many of your humorous and all so true comments!

I've been getting out on the Saline River here in the Benton area some this Summer. I mostly have been going after the Bream and Crappie because that's about our favorite to eat. Not had as much luck with the Crappie as last year thus far. Another handy venue is fishing the Ouachita there at the WW Park in the mornings before the water comes up. Walleyes lurking around the bigger boulders below the Ledge, also Crappie further down out in front of Porterfield's sometimes.

Best Regards
Jim

Mr. Jim, I really want to get in on some of that walleye fishing below the ledge. Maybe when it cools down a little you can show me where and how to catch em.
You come too.

Count me in on that trip, too. Love some walleye.

Hey Guys,

I pick up a walleye over there now and then but Edgar Morrison is the Walleye King. He and I went over there once last Summer, it was a cloudy day, and lightly rained on us all morning, but the fishing was just the best that day. Edgar got on the water about an hour before me, when I showed up, he already had a couple of real nice ones, then caught a couple of more that morning. I mainly caught Crappie that morning and donated to his lot at the end. Edgar had quite a nice ice chest of fish to take home that day.
I have always fished for the Walleye with a 1/8oz. lead-head hook with a pumpkin seed colored Tiny Brush Hog. However, Edgar was using a standard size Broken Back Rappala (sp) that caught the most that day.
Watch for Edgars future posts, he likes going early!

Best Regards
Jim

Jim-Thx for looking and I appreciate the kind words. I'm glad to hear you like reading it!! I'll be sure to get back out on the water asap and put another post together.

My brother lives in Benton maybe the next time I'm in the area a group of us can meet at Ouachita and do a little fishing. Most of the fishing I did on the river was near Malvern and strictly wading when I was in high school...almost 20 yrs ago, lol.

Thanks again!!
