Mulberry Wolf Pen - Indian Crk Trip Report

Post by kru1 » Fri Mar 06, 2015 11:18 am

Gotta group from the NW Chapter heading to the Mulberry tomorrow for the River Cleanup.

Currently she is at 3.8 and should hold due to the snow melt today.

We are going to cover Wolf Pen to Indian Creek (upper) and may stage trash at a few access points if need be. Liz and I will be in our battle barge (tripping canoe). Should have some kayakers bouncing around to shore grabbing trash and bringing it back to the barge for transport downriver.

Come on out and join us. We could use more transport vessels. We will meet 9 at the Bend.

Anyone thinking about heading out from Little Rock first thing in the morning? I'm looking to reduce costs and carpool.

Good group showed up for the cleanup on Saturday. 13 boats total.

Weather was perfect and the water was high. We cleaned from Wolf Pen to Indian Creek. Fortunately the river really wasn't that trashed. In all we got one full trash bag and a road barricade. Liz and I had to pull off at Indian Creek, but the rest of the crew paddled down to Whoop or Byrd's.

The post clean up celebration was a blast. Live music, good food, good drinks, and door prizes for everyone in attendance.
