Sunken treasures on Fourche Creek

Post by sig » Tue Oct 07, 2014 8:30 am

On Friday, Cowper and Debo returned to Fourche Creek to take another look at a sunken boat we had spotted months before. It was decided to go after the boat on Sunday and a video of our day is shown below.

The video doesn't show Cowper using a 12:1 system of ropes and pulleys on Friday to see if he could bring the boat from the middle of the channel to the shore. Nor does it show Jason Robison, Jim Kruger, Cowper, and myself with our 6:1 on Sunday as we alternated pulling the boat up on shore and actively scooping water and mud out of it.

It doesn't show those two activities because it took everyone present to pull on the lines. One less person and we may not have been able to float the boat.

Glad to see one hell of an ugly, scuttled boat pulling a beautiful Buffalo.

Great job,
kru
