I think the Fayetteville west side plant is not responsible for the daily river level surge at the Hiway 16 guage. The Illinois River guage at Savoy (also hiway 16) is not showing the same kind of surge. Goose Cr. flows into the Illinois above the Savoy guage. That lets the west side Fayetteville plant off the hook. Cal

Well, there are a lot of springs that feed the Illinois too from the north, and an extra rainy year might make them discharge more than average. But clearly the majority of the flow any summer is gonna be effluent discharge. Rain can make them discharge more too though I bet...

I've been there at 12 feet once too. Water so chunky you could walk from bank to bank across it.
