What can anyone tell me about the dagger quake

Post by jdryden78 » Wed Jan 06, 2016 4:58 pm

Just curious and bored at work. Anyone have experiences with the quake? Good, bad, indifferent?

I like it and paddled my wife's many times on Richland, Tot, etc. Only drawback is that most paddlers agree that it's a wet boat. Find the GDI group on Facebook and check there for comments or ask. Lots of people like them. Nimble, responsive, and did I say wet??

paddles well with a good bit of water in it, which is good cause like Roger says, it's a wet boat. Rolls extremely easy. Fantastic for a slow boat.
Carve out your own bulkhead saddle and glue plenty of foam in and it's hard to beat for creeky class III and up.

I hope to come across one at some point. Can't say I've ever even seen one in person.

If you're into that style of canoe, the Spanish Fly and Bigdog Force are more recent designs than the Quake. Painter Bob has a Bigdog you should have a look at. He told me at whitewater school that its also a" wet" boat though.-M-

I'm interested in pretty much any info I can find on different boats. I wish I had taken my canoe when we paddled the frog so I could have hit you and Kristian up for pointer.

C-boats.net. Best whitewater canoe info I've found.

Spend quite a bit of time on there. Always nice to hear from locals.

And you are always welcome to jump in one of my canoes. I just don't have the small ones, yet.

FYI, sounds like a few open boaters are going to hit the Ford Saturday after roll session.
