Central Chapter Dutch Oven cookout and potluck, Tuesday

Post by Tim Eubanks » Tue Oct 20, 2015 9:18 am

We will meet this month the 27th, at Alsopp Park, 3700 Cedar Hill Road, in Little Rock for the annual Dutch Oven cookout and potluck. Plan to eat around 7 to give you time for whipping up some awesomeness in your cast iron. Of course, you are not required to cook in a Dutch Oven or even cook onsite (there is a grill). Just bring your bestest potluck dish to share and enjoy.

There is a fireplace and we hope to be able to build a big fire to stand around and tell stories of rainfall and paddling of long ago.

We ask that you bring your own plate and utensils (and serving spoons for your dish) in an effort to cut down on our trash impact. It is BYOB and adult beverages are OK. Paper towels/napkins will be provided.

We have the pavilion from 4pm till 10pm. There are some good single track mountain bike trails in the park if you need some exercise.

Hope to see you there!

Bump! Should be a great night to be outside, enjoying good food, friends, and a big fire in the fireplace.

Remember to bring your own plate, utensils, and your own beverage of choice. Oh, and your contribution to the potluck!

So....here's what I'm making: one DO of Hoppin' John casserole (you will have to come and find out) topped with cornbread cooked on top and one DO of a vegetarian chipotle chili made with New Belgium Cocoa Mole Porter instead of stock or broth. What are you gonna make/bring?

This is NOT a cook off, it is a cook OUT! Come and enjoy good food and good friends.

Woody Harris is carrying Lonoke County's finest firewood for your warmth and ambiance. Thanks, Woody.
