CPR/Wilderness First Aid March 6-8 Hot Springs Village

Post by OzarkTom » Thu Feb 12, 2015 8:47 pm

HI Folks! Due to the number of requests we've had in the past week, we will be offering our "CPR for Paddlers" on the evening of Friday March 6th and then we will be teaching our "Paddlers Wilderness First Aid" March 7-8
This program will be held in Hot Springs Village and the exact location will be included in your registration materials.

I will be out of town till the end of February on a training in Washington State in the North Cascades so will only have email access, so please send questions to SwiftwaterRescue@gmail.com

I am including information on both:

CPR/AED March 6th

The course will start at 5pm and will last approximately 3 hrs.

This course will, in addition to standard content, include significant considerations for paddlers who may be involved in attempting resuscitation on a drowning victim.

If you've not taken our CPR course, you hopefully paddle with someone who has! We bring a very real world approach to our courses and you will be pleasantly surprised to discover that CPR can actually be a fun class!
The certification is through nationally accredited ASHI and is current for two years.

If you are interested in participating, please contact me ASAP at 479-595-1655 or at SwiftwaterRescue@gmail.com, as these typically fill very quickly and will be capped at 12 participants. The course fee is 40.00, and if you are a current ACC member, contact your chapter president about reimbursement opportunities. This program is covered at 100% for current ACC members.

Wilderness First Aid March 7-8

This 2 day course is non-stop action packed with hands on training and scenarios. We focus on the most common back-country injuries and give you the opportunity to actually practice just about everything you learn in the program. If you like lecture and powerpoint this is NOT the class for you....

As you see in trip reports on our message board, it doesn't take long for a day trip to turn into a lot more than you bargained for! We teach proven, easy to remember techniques to deal with just about anything you might encounter, from fractures to anaphylaxis. This course will cover all our standard syllabus as well as additional skills for paddlers.

The cost of the course is 125.00 which includes your textbook and all materials.
If you are an ACA Instructor, you are eligible for a 50.00 refund from the ACC after completion.

For more information or to register, email SwiftwaterRescue@gmail.com

Cheers!
