Pat Keller will be at whitewater school on May 3rd. To meet new friends, deliver boats, and to paddle.

Is he teaching a class? He should teach a river rodeo class. I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat.

Hey all, my name is don. I'm super new and green to kayaking, aka know nothing! So I have a creek boat paddle n such I'm borrowing to learn and make sure I like it before buying all my own stuff. What I'm curious about is, what all do I need to know before signing up and showing up to SWWP. If there's a post I should read or search sorry for my laziness I hadn't found one. I appreciate any input/help. Thanks!!

Thanks for the reply, I just read everything and need to make sure I have all the gear to use. I'm wanting to get in a pool first and get my roll down and comfortable in the kayak. I'm gonna do my best to get that done in the upcoming weeks. Any help with that would be awesome! (Nudge nudge)

For those eagerly awaiting registration to open, read through the website materials starting here:

http://www.arkansascanoeclub.com/page-543452" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (and keep navigating from there). Note that in addition to your online registration, there are up to three forms you will also need to fill out and mail in (the ACA Waiver, the Participant Health Form, and a Medical Release Form if the participant is a minor).

There is a LOT of information...please take the time to read through it!

As far as working on your roll, that is a fantastic goal, but I want to reassure you that the vast majority of those taking instruction at ww school do not have their roll, and are not expected to. Now, if anyone is already hitting their pool roll some, we will absolutely be all over you to set up and try to roll on the river, but I just don't want anyone to feel they might not be "ready" for ww school unless they have a roll. Far from it!
