"Roof Raising" for the family of Jonathan Kennedy Oct. 10-13

Post by OzarkTom » Mon Sep 08, 2014 1:39 pm

Hi Folks,

In the wake of the tragic loss of our friend and ACC member Jon Kennedy, many of you have reached out to see what you could do to help. Right now, we have Jon's father from Columbus, OH asking for assistance to re-roof the house for Jenny and the boys. Chris (Jon's father) is getting all the materials and a dumpster, and we are going to do our best to have a group of volunteers to strip and re-roof the house in a single weekend, Oct 10-12.

The house is in Fayetteville, and we will provide volunteers with the address and directions.

We need everyone! The roof is not steep and only a single story, but it is quite large and has numerous sections that could all be worked on at once.

Bring your hammers, utility knives, pneumatic roofing nailers (nails will be provided) hoses, compressors, extension cords, ladders, roofing shovels, wheelbarrows etc. This is going to be a BIG event.

The Northwest chapter will be providing some food, if you could help with this please let us know. We could use a grill master and grills, as well as food and drink. The house will be available for bathroom facilities, and if you are coming from out of town, we'll find a place for you to stay nearby. Even if you can only offer few hours, we'd love to have you be part of this effort!

Contact me at Swiftwaterrescue@gmail.com (not by PM) for more information or to volunteer. If you have questions call me at 479-595-1655

Cheers,

Tom
