Excellent! There will be at least one loaner available, so fret not. Just concentrate on the important things; securing a partner, naming your team, ways you can gain style points, etc.
You come too.

Is the player standing on the canoe gunwales?

Could be. Sounds like a good way to secure some style points, but also a good way to be prematurely knocked down by the opposing jouster.

I will do my best to bring (1) tandem Blue Hole canoe. Assuming I can secure it, it should be available for use. As much as I hate to do it, I propose that one of the rules be that there are NO STRIKES TO THE NECK OR HEAD OR BELOW THE WAIST. To do so (intentionally) would be a foul which would result in "Loss of Lance", i.e. you have to absorb one "round" of jousting sans lance.
Ryan Center, I had you in mind when I first saw this game. I've been asked to be a judge and it's a good thing because I'd totally kick your a**. :poke2: Walter's too. :poke2:

I'm the proud new owner of two Buffalo 16's, and am willing to recruit competitors.

I also have a my daughter and her ma ready to come out and fight. I would volunteer them the name "Team Princess", but that would likely make them so mad that no one could stand against them! :flame: :box:

What about age groups? Ya know AARP versus the younger generation? I would hate to see someone break a hip. But really, are there any age restrictions or separate divisions?

Mags

BTW, not trying to challenge just asking for clarification of how this will work.

Age groups have been discussed. I'll let Sir Duece make the call on that one. We may just have to see who all shows up. And YarTheBug, Team Princess may already be taken by Princess Ryan Center. :) :poke2:

Great question Mags. Gordo is right. Still kinda waiting to see who plans to compete before determining divisions (if any). I've been very encouraged by the response and do hope we have to make those kinds of decisions.

DANG! Where's the LIKE button!
I LIKE this!
In setting up age groups will you have a 70+ division?

Sure if we have enough of em. Maybe you and Mr. Dave could show the youngsters how it's done! :box:

Or Dave and I could be declared winners by default. :myday"

Found these links for more details:

◦Optional equiptment - goggles (to not lose contact lenses), gloves (for better grip on the lance), swim shoes (to keep feet out of the muck when in the water), extra large shirt (goes over life vest to not allow spearing through the vest), cigarettes, viking helmets

Deuce

Couple of questions:

Does each team need to prepare / provide their own lances or will you be providing? I would recommend some sort of inspection / quality control of some sort to ensure no sharp edges, etc.

Will teams be required to sit on canoe seats or can they kneel in the boat?

Lances will be provided I'm told. "No sharp edges" What fun is that :D

And my limited knowledge of this goes like this...... The stern jouster/paddler is seated or kneeling (his/her choice) and the bow jouster/paddler MUST remain standing upon engaging the opposing jouster.

Deuce can correct me if I'm wrong.
