NW Roll Session, 2-8-14

Post by kru1 » Tue Feb 04, 2014 4:45 pm

Our fourth of five roll sessions will be held this Saturday from 8:30-11:00am at the Jones Family Center indoor pool. The best place to park and access the pool is in the back/west parking lot (look at the satellite image on gmaps). There is a $5.00 suggested donation to those who are not yet members of the ACC.

This is a great opportunity to learn or practice your roll in a controlled environment. There are usually plenty of people to assist those who may need it. Sometimes there is even extra gear to try or borrow. Attendance has been averaging right around 20 boats this winter.

Please remember to rinse your boats & gear before you get in the pool.

Assuming I can get out of this frozen mess by Saturday, I plan to be there to assist any open boater that wants to work on their roll.

I know snow is forecast on Saturday, but please post up if you plan on attending.

Can't believe but our roads are actually plowed and salted out here in Winslow. Looks like I will be able to make it.

Great swimming weather when I have to spray my roof racks down with de-icer so my boats won't slide off.

Just finished cleaning up gear from the roll session. Many thanks to all the ACC members who come out to help struggling newbies try to roll.

Big crowd and lots of fun today at our next to last session of the season. I got good video from my cobbled together stern mount. Even got Kru doing his first offside canoe roll.-M-
