NWA Boatball or River Run, Wed, 5:30 PM

Post by wiredforsound » Tue May 21, 2013 3:15 pm

Boatball or River Run, this Wednesday, 5:30 PM till ?, Boatball at Westfork Riverside Park or .... some whitewater paddling If any whitewater runs are available nearby that we can logistically pull off after work & get off the river by dark. Thinking something like a Lee Creek run or feel free to make recommendations as we see what water levels do tomorrow.

So have your gear packed (ie, might put in a throw rope if we go paddling since we don't normally use them in boatball  ) & be ready to roll for either option & keep checking the board.

Please post up if you plan to attend!!

I should be down with whatever. I just walked off the West Fork, it started flashing on us. Lot of rain here in Winslow.

If you guys hit up the WF tomorrow afternoon, please post up a trash report. The river will either have flushed a lot of trash, or deposited more. It's really odd how the flow dictates that process, but its important to know about since its annual cleaning is this weekend.

I'm gonna be going door to door tomorrow evening to recruit some local watershed residents to help with the cleanup this weekend, so I won't be able to make it.

Y'all have fun and be safe out there.

Lee Creek run after work is looking like a good option. Post up if you've got a better idea &/or if you can make it.

I am trying to make river run today. Lee is down to 5 4 at gauge. Do we think it will hold? Clear creek mountaiburg run might be at low end shuttle is a little shorter from NWA. Run is longer.

The Lee Creek gauge is not working correctly. It was up around 14 feet yesterday evening, but the gauge only showed it peaking at around 6.8. It should be a great level today.

Kurt I am with you would love to run Clear Creek.

I can do 5:30 at Chester. I just ran Ash Dr to the grotto on the Frog and it was plenty big.

I have to drop my cousin off at XNA at 4:00 and will go where ever straight from there.
