8 days until Ecuador
Mounting excitement: 8 more days until I'll be paddling for 10 in the Andes (which I've always wanted to see) and upper Amazonian basin! Yay!!

Lorraine will do great and have a great time down south. I just hope she brings back some killer videos or photos with her scouting trip report.

Are you using an Outfitter? If so, which one.
Over the years, I have been down there with Phil and Mary DeRheimer some 5 times and never had anything but great times.
Endless Rivers is down there and they are great as well.
Small World Adventures is down there, they set up the first boaters lodge and it is first class. Kastroff built his lodge just upstream of SWA.
Good food, good boating and amazing scenic views and the best kayak runs ever in such small country. The ride from Quito to Borha is pretty wild, keep your camera handy. If you can go down a day or so early and get them to take you to the town that is nothing but locals selling every thing. I don't recall the name but they will know. A few hours drive from Quito and well worth it.
