Upcoming Lil Mo trips

Post by Lupe » Mon Aug 20, 2012 10:47 pm

Thought I'd go ahead and post a few trips I hope to make:

Friday, Aug 24 - hope to get off work early. Note that the release is now an hour earlier at 2pm, so meeting at the take out needs to be at 1:30.

Labor Day Weekend Sandwich:
Friday, Aug 31
Monday, Sept 3
The release schedule hasn't been posted yet for these dates, but since I'm not going to be going out of town, I plan to hit the Lil Mo on Friday before the Labor Day weekend, and then again on Monday. The nice thing about Swepco is although they don't do weekend releases, they DO release on weekday holidays (or at least usually they do).

I'll post about the Labor Day weekend trips as we get closer and the schedule's been posted.

Cheers

Great, I would like to do both as I will be off Friday and Monday. Bet Minna would like to come then too. I will let her know if she doesn't see this.

Heather I'm in for Monday. I'll check with Mitch to see about ride sharing from Hot Springs. I'll look at the message board to see if anything has changed when we get back from Chicago on Friday. See you there. BOB

I and a friend might be in for Labor Day depending on what the generation schedule looks like.

I'll be at the take-out at 1:00 p.m., Wally, planning to shuttle with you and whoever else is there at that time. That will allow a little paddling time in the pool at the put-in. Besides looking at all those big fish, I would like to check out the rock structures installed just downstream of the dam and maybe be there when the release starts to see if they make a wave. Does that sound okay with you?

I believe when the spreadsheet shows 1500, that means it starts at 1400. I don't know why they choose to show the times an hour off, someone who has been around longer will need to shed light on that.

The spreadsheet shows water flow per hour. So when generation starts at 1400, the flow rate for the hour is 0. At 1500, the flow rate is now 8, 16, or 24 per hour (that's one, two, or three generators).
