Rockport Friday

Post by Cathy » Wed Jun 13, 2012 3:47 pm

Hi all, I'm going to be in Malvern visiting the fam over the weekend and would like to make it over to Rockport for some play on Friday afternoon. Will there be any water and will there be other boaters out there? I hope to see some familiar faces. Can't wait to wear the shorty drytop (or no drytop) after two years of wearing the drysuit year-round in the PNW. See ya'll soon!

From the latest newsletter:
Flow Releases - June 12, 2012

The weekday release from Blakely will be about 2,000 CFS from 1 to 9 PM, Carpenter dam will release about 2,400 CFS from 3 to 8 PM and Remmel Dam will release about 1,200 CFS from 1 to 9 PM.

On weekends the release from Blakely be about 2,000 CFS from 1 to 9 PM, Carpenter dam will release about 2,600 CFS from Noon to 5 PM and Remmel Dam will release about 3,600 CFS from Noon to 3 PM.

TRANSLATION: Friday is a no-go, not enough water for good play at the ledge. If you can sneak away from the family (or better, bring them!) on Saturday, there will be a "short" window of good play from about 2:30 to 5 PM. (best from 3 to maybe 4:30).

Welcome back, even if only for a visit!

Cathy
Glad to see your post! Haven't seen you since my maiden voyage on the Upper Ocoee in 07 (teal Prophet).
Enjoy the only wave in the state right now

Thanks for the heads up Cowper. I was bummed I could not make it the ledge on Sat because of family duties. Glad to see Arkansas got some rain over the weekend. It came down hard on Sat afternoon in Malvern.
Hi Tim, I hope all is well in the Prophet. I sure do miss the warm waters of the Ocoee. If you are boating in the WA area, look us up...don't forget the drysuit!
