Depends on what part of the state you are in.

If by next weekend you mean Memorial Day weekend, then summer releases are going to start at Remmel Dam which guarantees a few hours of good water.

So if you can get to the Hot Springs / Malvern area, you could float from Remmel dam down to the Malvern WW park (just upstream of where the Ouachita goes under I-30). Water turns on at noon, but for fishing you may prefer to start downstream before the water comes on. When you get to the ledge at Malvern, you want to be towards the left side of the river, so that if you tump going over the ledge (less than 5% chance), you'll still be near the bank and the take out.
Trash: Get a little every time you go!

Might be hard to find a river that you won't drag. Have you thought about a lake? Cane Creek in Star City has a kayak trail and pretty good fishing. Plus it won't be full of ski boats and bass boats on Memorial day weekend. It's a favorite place to take my kayak.

Lake Beaverfork or the Arkansas River at Cadron Settlement would be good places to start. We'll talk.
