LET'S PADDLE........Eagle Float
LET'S PADDLE........Eagle Float
Where: White River (Kings is too low)
When : Saturday Jan. 22
Who : Anyone who wants to float, photo and have a good time
The Northwest Chapter is getting together to float the White river in the hopes of doing some eagle watching.
We will be meeting at the Ozark Mountain Trading Company at 10:30 am. Here we will do the logistics of getting
everyone on and off the river. You can park and ride or drive yourself from there. We will be floating a 4.25 mile section of the river that should allow us to get on and back off the river during the "heat" of the day.
Bring your camera/binoculars for wildlife watching. Be sure to dress and outfit yourself for the weather conditions.
If the weather looks too extreme the float will be called off the day before for safety reasons. Check back here for
updates.

Is a lake boat appropriate for this section of the river?
Re: LET'S PADDLE........Eagle Float
Absolutely, This will be a class -1 float.
No whitewater just white headed birds.

Re: LET'S PADDLE........Eagle Float
Very excited! Everyone please realize this is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to meet fellow paddlers and get involved with the club. Please post if you plan to attend! This event is as much about meeting new people as it is watching bald eagles.
Side note: I saw a bald eagle on the way to Camp Couchdale Friday in the median of the interstate feeding on a deer that had been hit. It was the closest I have ever been to a bald eagle. That thing was as big as the deer.
Note to new people (Non-Member or Member)- If you would like any additional information as to what to wear, what to bring, or just general information that you are curious about, feel free to call me at eight seven zero, 715, zero six four eight anytime during the day or evening. Hopefully I can answer any questions you might have.
This is a great opportunity to meet new paddlers in the area for the upcoming spring season.

I'm a new member to the club and live in St. Charles, AR within 200 yards of the River... so could you give me some directions on how to get there? Love the water, no matter what time of year.

Re: LET'S PADDLE........Eagle Float
What time do you think we might be getting off the river?
I will be bringing my own canoe, would someone be able to shuttle me and my boat back to my truck at the launch or back to Ozark Mountain Trading Co. ?

This will be a 2 to 3 hour float.fettsway wrote:What time do you think we might be getting off the river?

On river between 12 and 1.
Float during the "heat" of the day. (still predicting low 40's)
Shuttle to and from the river will be provided.
Looking forward to the day......
