New Boatball Location - Cast Your Vote!!

Cast your votes. Put in a few miles over the past week looking at our options. Below are 4 options to choose from for next week. List your choices in order of preference (ie, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Last, you get it : ). After each of the choices I have listed the actual driving miles from key intersections to the boat launch so you can work out your own logistics. Be sure & keep your fellow boatball comrades in mind when voting since we need a least 6 players to show up to have a game.
My assessment of water quality at each of the 4 choices is listed from best to worst: monte ne (best), blue springs park, lake wedington & lake elmdale (last).

monte ne (beaver lake): (distance from 540 exit 83 new hope rd.=8 miles east, distance from 71b= 4.6 miles east) Cost: Free

blue springs (beaver lake): (distance from 540 exit 72 hwy 412 = 12.3 miles east , distance from 71b = 9.3 miles east, distance from crossover/412 intersection = 8.2 miles east) Cost: Free

lake wedington: (distance from 540 exit 64 hwy 16 = 12 miles west) Cost: $5 per vehicle, $30 per vehicle for season pass

lake elmdale: (distance from 540 exit 73 elm springs rd = 2.8 miles west)
Cost: Free

Winning location will be place for next Tuesday. If it doesn't work out we'll move to 2nd choice the following week, etc. etc.

Note: Lake Fayetteville is not an option for boatball. I drove down & spoke to the lake manager. They have two rules that just won't work for boatball, besides the cost; Rule 1: No swimming allowed, Rule 2: Eskimo rolls are not allowed. Yeah, something about we might get hung up on wires/brush underneath the surface. Told her I could not agree that we would be able to follow their rules. Didn't figure drowning was good option if someone got knocked over :D

My votes are as follows:

1) lake elmdale - most centrally located, easy to get too & free. Will need to take showers when we get home, but probably not much worse in water quality than West Fork
2) monte ne - pretty water, 10 minute drive for me & free :D
3) blue springs - secluded location, over an hours drive from my house :( , but free.
4) lake wedington - about same driving time as West Fork for me, but it would cost us. Not sure water quality is that much better than lake elmdale when you're having to pay.

Added a poll to keep track of votes.

We might loose our Winslow/West Fork players if we move the game to Monte Ne. However, I do think it would be a great location for a weekend game when we are not as rushed.

I'm with Jeff in that Elmdale is probably as nasty as Wedington, which we all seemed to be ok with last year when it was free to play out there.

I played in Lake Elmdale several times a few summers ago and thought the water was fine. I'm cool wherever, though.

I vote Wedington...... Im also cool with switching up are locations during the summer. Its fine if Victor gets screwed but we should try an keep it fair on the drive time for everyone else.

Lake Weddington is 36 miles from Bentonville Plus $5 to play? Blue Springs on hwy 412 is 23 miles from Bentonville and Free plus clean water. Also Blue Springs is close to Fayetteville. Now Lake Elmdale is even closer for everyone to drive to but bad water quality. It would make sense to have it at Blue Springs Close Drive, Clean water, and FREE!! Thanks to Google map  We can do alternating places too weddington first than blue springs than monte ne

We never pay at Wedington anyway. The box is always vandalized so the payment shouldn't be an issue. But, I also didn't realize how close Blue Springs was. Also, I'll probably only be to one more in the next several years so you probably shouldn't listen to me.

My first choice is Blue Springs, even though I live MUCH closer to Lake Wedington. BTW I won't be there 7/13 unless I can get a late work switch.

I don't think we have to change locations

That was easy. I have Tuesday off. :D I think you're right, Victor, West Fork should be good with all this rain. BUT, if we ever do go to Wedington I can load another boat on my car, maybe even stick a small one in back and tie the tailgate down, to bring the cost per person down by boatpooling. I live just off Wedington one mile west of 540.
