Shepm
Thanks for your kind offer, but I'm not going to get involved in any "project" boats.

Re: Solo WW Canoe Wanted:
Steve,
Yes, I did see that Genesis, but I don't want to get into gunwale replacement, or any other restoration projects.
I don't have any problem doing my own outfitting.
Thanks for the heads up anyway.

Re: Solo WW Canoe Wanted:
Thanks Will, but I'm not a "steep creekin" kind of guy............ I'm 6'4" tall, weigh 205, and have a 38 inch inseam. I'd have to eddy out & get out of that boat every 30 minutes just to regain circulation in my legs. Additionally, I couldn't do an overnight on the river in that...

Solo WW Canoe Wanted:
Wanted:
Lightly used, solo, whitewater canoe; preferrably 13 feet or under.
On top of my list is a Mohawk Xl 13.
Would consider other brands/models.
Some outfitting would be good; Royalex layup preferred.
I am not looking for a beater, or a Winter project boat.
Have cash will travel.

Lupe..................
Thanks for the kind words Lupe............. I may have played a small part in your "introduction" to canoeing, but I'm sure if you think back, you can remember more than a few that provided you with positive role models............Jarvis, Dale, Gary, Bart, to name a few. Bottom line; all o...

Re: Spring, Eleven Point, North Fork...
Hey Richard! Yeah! I've put a couple of miles of the Eleven Point under some canoes. Plan on doing some more too. Was out there 2 weeks ago. I know for sure that between 1982 (when I started keeping a river log) and 2000, I did 56 trips on the Eleven Point. Most of them were 35 milers; from Cane Blu...

Re: Spring, Eleven Point, North Fork...
If you didn't take the hike to Greer Spring you missed seeing a beauty of a spring, and a very nice photo opportunity. Another beautiful photo opportunity is Falling Springs Mill, which is located a couple of miles north of the Greer access on Hwy 19. You have to turn off of Hwy 19 onto a gravel roa...

Re: Spring, Eleven Point, North Fork...
No, there is not a park service campground at the Riverton access. But there is an "in a pinch" campground, of sorts, behind Hufstedlers Canoe Rental, less than a mile up the road from the Riverton access. Personally, I'd camp on a gravel bar before I'd camped there. Actual "riverside...

Re: Spring, Eleven Point, North Fork...
Rebuttal: The cave that you can paddle a canoe into on the Current River is Cave Spring. It is most certainly NOT the largest cave in Missouri, by any stretch of the imagination. The cave on the upper Jacks Fork River with the large entranceway is Jam Up Cave. It DOES have one of the tallest entranc...

Go to Cabela's website.............
When you get there; check out the 6 man, Timberline outfitter tent. It has the size you want, it will stand up to a lot of abuse, it will easily accomodate 4 people without cots, 3 people & cots, or 2 people & cots & a mound of gear. The ventilation is excellent, and it is quite easy for...

Re: Buffalo River shuttle ?
Thanks to all who responded with excellent information. The information confirmed what I thought.......it would cost us about $200.00 to have 2 vehicles shuttled from Ponca to Gilbert. That would be more than round trip gas cost for both vehicles for the whole trip, a good steak dinner for everyone ...

Buffalo River shuttle ?
Planning on 3 or 4 day, Buffalo River trip, from Ponca to Gilbert.
Suggestions on outfitters that will pick vehicles at Ponca & run them down to Gilbert?
Any idea on price per vehicle?
Contact information for outfitters?
Thanks,
BOB

Eureka tents................
My 2 cents worth: I own a 4 man Timberline Outfitter. Great tent in my opinion; especially the Outfitter model, as opposed to the cheaper version. However, I am of the opinion that it would better be called a 3 man. With 2 people & gear in it; you can "get by" if you have too for a day...
