Low water Cossatot run before Dierks Saturday?
If the Tot is at low runnable level tomorrow morning anyone up for a run before Dierks? I've never paddled it below 3.5 and figured why not if I'm driving several hours and in the area.

Pyranha Karnali Medium $350 SOLD
Well used but well loved medium Karnali. 2009 model. Was my first creek boat and is a great first boat to get started in. Extremely forgiving and easy to roll. No cracks, no oil canning, typical river rash. Connect 30 outfitting is in good condition. Has added foam knee blocks and heel block. Comes ...

Re: Recommended Nose Clip/Plug
For what it's worth, I bought a pair of nose clips from Jeremy at OOO a year ago for 5 bucks. They are home made. Didn't ask by whom. They are the best pair of nose clips I've ever had. Basically they are coat hanger wire with a piece of closed cell foam glued to the ends. I've been through Smiley's...

Re: Need Transport Kayak from Dallas
There could be some of us DFW paddlers coming up to Rockport this coming weekend. I'm trying to make it out there myself. Where in Dallas is this boat?

Re: Rockport
I've been there every day this week. I'll be there tomorrow around 1pm Last weekend there was a lot of wood in Tiger's Jaw. Don't know if it worked itself out but maybe Clay would know if he's been there this week. There was a big mass of thorny vines/brush stuck in the main hole and a large log ju...

Re: COE campgrounds don't like hammock campers?
No sorry. Not meaning anything bad. I just didn't think that would be an issue at this camp. Still I'm amazed this is the first time I've heard of this kind of rule. Guess I'll make sure I keep my small tent packed away in my gear when I travel from now on. I had been meaning to take it out of my ge...

Re: COE campgrounds don't like hammock campers?
In refering to the hammocks, its not a matter of just sleeping in the hammock, it is about those people that come in early in the week and set up some small something to illegally reserve the site for the weekend. That is why an enclosed camping unit is required at many campgrounds. Well in the cas...

Re: COE campgrounds don't like hammock campers?
I personally don't know any high school or college age kids but I'm 38 and most of my friends and paddling companions I travel with are all my age and older and most of us camp in hammocks. Didn't know this was seen as a young person fad thing. Although the host at this site and many sites are 65+ a...

Re: COE campgrounds don't like hammock campers?
Hopefully campgrounds and the entities that manage them soon realize that hammock campers are usually the most low impact, quiet, best campers to have in their campgrounds. Never mind the dozens of "locals" using the camp that are loud, throwing cigarette butts and trash everywhere, making...

COE campgrounds don't like hammock campers?
So, I was traveling and paddling in Arkansas over the weekend and stayed for the first time at Iron Mountain Rec Area campground on DeGray Lake. Nice campground, but when I checked in and asked for a site and said we didn't need much just some trees for our hammocks the host said I had to have a ten...

Paddled yesterday on the Mulberry. It was getting low so I know today it is quite lower. a lot of scraping and long flat pools.
