Missouri Ozarks Paddling: March 2016

Hey! First, an item of news: Judy and Wayne have sold Boiling Springs Resort to a couple from the Fort Worth area and will be closing the real estate transaction in December. The good part of this is that the new owners will give us the same arrangement and prices on cabins as we had last year. So, ...

Info wanted on Crooked Creek (Around Yellville)

Folks:

Does anyone have good info regarding access conditions and recommended flow levels for Crooked Creek? It appears that we might be headed down there at some point during our March paddling in the Ozarks this year.

Thanks in advance.

Re: overnight trip

Sorry Al, you know I can't resist teasing folks. I haven't butchered the Sunburst yet but do plan to this winter. I did see your pics even though I never responded. Well, actually I responded but the email fairies zapped it and fussed at me for sending and receiving emails about canoes. Their prior...

Re: March 1 - 16, S MO & N AR Paddling

Luke: Ana and I will be down as usual on the 15th or 16th of February. We're just inviting others to paddle from March 1 on (last year involved about fourteen days too much "trip leading" for me to handle at my advanced age.) So, we may join you at some point. Keep me in the loop as to you...

Brief Situation Report: CURRENT RIVER AREA Oct 12 - 17

Folks: All is well up north in Southern MO. The group has paddled two days on the Big Piney River and one on the Norfork. Water level has been minimal, but we're getting a good soaker this morning, and the upper reaches of some of the streams will likely be deep enough to paddle by this afternoon. A...

Re: CURRENT RIVER AREA Oct 12 - 17

The alternate streams are mostly class I like the Current with a few class II's maybe. I'll email you some links to them Friday, Ann. See: http://www.missouricanoe.org/map.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and select the river you want. These maps are old and outdated, b...

This is what I've read http://www.news-leader.com/article/20131001/NEWS01/310010077/Popular-national-park-rivers-closed-to-floating-during-shutdown?odyssey=nav%7Chead" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, but I much prefer your version. Who knows? Be good to see y'all regardless...
