Re: SOG Flash Rescue Knife

I carry both a SOG Flash Rescue knife (in my PFD) and a SOG Camp Saw in my gear bag (http://sogknives.com/store/F10.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). At first I was concerned about carrying an "assisted opening" knife in my PFD pocket. I had a mental picture o...

Re: how would a dagger impulse do on richland or hailstone?

I've run my Impulse through Cossatot Falls without a problem.

The Impulse is not for sale, but I have a Dagger Genesis that I would be willing to part with. It's actually bigger than the Impulse but is quicker handling. Contact me if you want me to send you pictures. ssheph at sbcglobal dot net.

Re: OT - a computer or software related question

Does everyone who is going to view the calendar have to have a unique ID and password? If not, you don't have any problem getting around the issue of how many can access it.

So the main question is how many simultaneous accesses will be made to the calendar at its peak use.

Check out Google Calendar. Everyone will have to have a gmail account, but there is no charge.

Our family is spread out, and we use Google Calendar to keep each other informed about everyone else's plans.

Re: Suggestions welcomed for OC-1 for class II-III

The Raven would be a good choice except for your requirement that you be able to carry gear for a 2-day river trip. I think with your body weight and the gear, the Raven, at 11'3", may not handle that well. A 13-foot boat will meet your requirements better. The Probe 13 would be a good choice. ...

Re: Can I try on your kokatat dry suit?

I second Cowper's comments. On the size charts, I need a medium, but I bought a large. I can get in and out of it without help. It's slightly baggy when I'm walking around, but once in the boat, the fit is great. I've worn two layers of light fleece under the drysuit without feeling constrained.

Re: CPR Info for ACA Instructors

5 or 6 years ago the ACC brought in an instructor from SOLO Wilderness Medicine to teach Wilderness First Aid at Couchdale. On Friday night we certified on CPR, and on Saturday and Sunday we went through a combination of class room instruction and practical exercises on first aid. The woman who ran ...

Re: Attention! Weidower Cadron access lost for now

We've temporarily dodged a big bullet on Lee Creek. But now we may be facing access problems on Cadron and Big Piney. Now that Mrs. Helton is no longer living, future access at Helton's Farm could become a major issue. And without a public launch area between Guy and Highway 65, it may take a great ...
