boat recommendation
I'm looking for a pair of Sit in Kayaks for Myself and my GF. Our main use will be local flat water and occasionally some Class I-II river stuff. No serious whitewater or creekin'. This all started because She's bored and unmotivated with running and cycling and is looking for a more entertaining/in...

WTB 2 Kayaks
I'm looking for a pair of Sit in Kayaks for Myself and my GF. Our main use will be flat water and occasionally some Class I-II river stuff. No serious whitewater or creekin'. Mainly we are just looking for a fun way to exercise and maybe the occasional float on LMF, Caddo or the buff. I'll admit, i'...

need recommendations for over night float with 11yr old son
Within the next weekend or two id like to take my son on an over night canoe trip. We had planned on going to the buff the spring, but I'm not really up for the drive. Can anyone recommend a river closer to texarkana with legal and safe camping on the banks? We have our own gear so don't need a rent...

Sea Kayaking - North east or Canada

Re: Need Info on Mountain Fork River
I'm not sure how far it is but it seems like it takes 20-30 mins to the re-reg (put-in) from beavers bend and probably like 30-40mins to Presbyterian Falls (take out). I think if you travel back roads its about 10miles to the re-reg, but I don't know that route. If you are going to run it several ti...

Re: Need Info on Mountain Fork River
I'm from Texarkana also and we go there often. Been going for years (its not what it use to be). We normally just take day trips but we have camped a few times. Its a fun float and at normal flow its plenty safe for all. But like what was mentioned above, the water level can and will change so depen...

Re: northern arkansas/southern mo suggestions
Thanks for the suggestion, I had forgotten that it was the weekend of the 4th. I think we have decided to just wait until the buffalo is right. We are just going to head to St. louis or something this weekend and catch some of the show caves along the way. Any must-sees?

northern arkansas/southern mo suggestions
As per my other thread, I was thinking about taking my 10yr old son on an overnight float of the buffalo this weekend, but I have some concerns about the water level. I was hoping some of you guys that know that part of the state could maybe suggest another river or stream that would be a better flo...

Re: DIY Buffalo river overnighter with 10yr old son.
Good info, thanks guys. I'm not really chained to the buffalo and it sounds like I may want to find something else. Is there anything else up that way or into southren mo. That would have more water and still offer river side camping/overnight canoeing? Pretty much looking for anything north of lake...
