Down stream side of first drop. Boulders are about 8ft tall. Hard to judge size from these photos

Re: north east ar info needed

I have been trying to load some pictures since last night. Only internet I have is my phone and it won't let me load them. I will try to post some pics asap. Or if someone wants me to text them to them I could do that also. Next flood we get in the area will bring this up to runable. For probably a ...

Re: north east ar info needed

I'm interested in checking it out sometime. Awesome! I did an altimeter Dry walk the other day. Said it was just under a quarter mile. And dropping around 30 feet in that distance. Keep in mind this was done with a cell phone app without service in area so it was running from satellite. Heard this ...

north east ar info needed

Ok..... so on a hiking excursion I discovered a possible creek run in a canyon. Its always dry until flood conditions. There is possibly several good Class III drops. The last flood we had in the area I scouted from cliff tops and looks runable. The creek is called hall's creek. And the canyon forma...

Re: eleven point question

I live about fifty miles from there. I run from boze mill to the riverton access all the time. Just so I can play in the rapid. What I usually do is call hufstedlers (the outfitter across the road from riverton access) pay them like 10$ park my ride at the riverton access. And have him shuttle me to...

Re: whitewater kayaking and corrective eyewear

After speaking with the eye doctor, I have decided to just stick with regular contacts. Going to take an extra pair always. With my limited experience glasses are more hard to use than the contacts. Thanks for all the responses guys.

Re: whitewater kayaking and corrective eyewear

Thanks for that info trey. I'm going to look into that. Only thing my right eye has astigmatism. So I'm not sure how that will complicate things. I have wore glasses for about ten years. Then switched to contacts over a year ago. Really enjoy not having glasses to deal with.

Re: whitewater kayaking and corrective eyewear

I have an eye exam Monday, thanks I will bring up the tighter contacts. Lol. Although like others, I haven't lost a contact yet. From splash up. But next time I paddle my local spot I will try the splash in the face.

Re: whitewater kayaking and corrective eyewear

Thanks for all the advice folks. I guess I will stick with contacts and carry an extra er two. And as far as rolling. I have never done it eyes closed yet. When the weather warms up I will try it. Lol I doubt have a drysuit. Or any other dryware except a paddling jacket which becomes useless when I ...

whitewater kayaking and corrective eyewear

Ok. So I wear contact lenses, or glasses. What's the best thing to wear for whitewater kayaking? Here's my problem. If I wear contacts I'm fine as long as I don't have to roll (because I can't open my eyes under water with contacts in) or as long as I don't take any huge splashes open eyed. Lol. I h...
