Strange, I know several Newton County residents that don't seem to be as concerned about this issue as the people posting.
Perhaps they know something being on the inside that we don't?

Re: Louis Covington and October paddling trip
I'd be interested in dates for that trip also. Right now, I have tentative plans to go to the Current during the week of October 1st but could change them to join this annual event. (if it happens).
It'd sure be nice to see you again Mike.

Ouachita River from Remmel Dam to Rockport. Little Red, several good sections between JFK Dam and Ramsey Landing near Pangburn. Perhaps a little farther from Cabot and not quite in Central AR - Middle Buffalo, Strawberry, Caddo, Dragover section of the Ouachita. And though not a river, Lake Sylvia i...

don't know too much about the river down around Van Buren except that there are a lot more power boats down there. At the upper end of the river, We have used Jadwin Canoe and Carr's Canoe Rental for vehicle shuttle, great folks. There are several more you can check out in the Eminence area. One pla...

Re: Info needed: 11 Point, Current, etc.
the name of the canoe rental place is Richard's. There's another one in Alton, I think it's called Eleven Point Canoe Rental. Then another one in Riverton called Hufstedler's. The Eleven Point and the Current are both awesome if you go in the middle of the week. If you go to the Current, I suggest A...

Re: (Stanley!)GrayRock Royalex Canoe info? Update w/pics
Gray Rock canoes, later called Stanley canoes were made in Marble Falls. I believe they moved at some point east of Jasper on the Hasty Cutoff. I may be wrong but I don't think they've been in business for a while. Their royalex canoes were similar to a Buffalo but not the exact same hull design. Th...

I don't know yaks either (strictly an open boater) but if you want something that tracks well and is good for Piney Mulberry Upper Buffalo, is there a Dagger Zydeco sized for 11 year olds? Just wondering.

Many years ago, my wife and I along with Roy Staggs did a canoe camping clinic at Rendezvous, over by the Bull Ring. After that, Richard McFadden did canoe camping clinics for several years. Richard has also been a guest speaker on canoe camping at Canoecopia in Wisconsin. In short, Richard McFadden...
