Re: BUFFALO RIVER - FEB 27-28 - UPDATE #2 At least a day trip

Richard: I believe that Ana and I (the insane Iowans) will be staying up in MO for the weekend. After 200 miles of paddling and about 900 miles of shuttle driving, we're going to do a very local stream tomorrow. (Saturday) Today, we'll say "howdy" to the upper Jack's Fork for you. We'll be...

Re: Ice Storm Part 2: The 2010 Edition

You guys have stolen our weather!

Here we are in NE Iowa, with clear skies, and a balmy low of 9 below zero tonight. AND, no snow, sleet or freezing rain. But, with no precip, it is almost like summer.

Robbers!

Re: Seeking moving water canoe instruction...

J: Give me a holler. We'll be in Licking, Mo (not that far away...) for the last two weeks in Feb and would be quite pleased to work with you. While I am one of those certified (certifiable?) instructor people, that is no big deal. No charge, but you could show us some places to paddle around your n...

Never mind about paddling Friday the

No water found. I'm back in Iowa already... Thanks anyway. Hey, folks! I'm down in your neck of the woods for a couple of days, doing some canoe buying and selling. (Yes, I'm one of those lucky "ROFs.") I just wondered if anybody amongst the ACC group happened to be free and wishing to pad...

Re: Bell vs. Wenonah Tandem Canoes?

Huntark: While one is not easy to find in the southern part of the US, the Novacraft Prospector is, IMHO, a better boat than any of the ones mentioned so far. The price is roughly equivalent to the Bell canoes, but the overall quality of construction and components is higher. (And the laced cord sea...

Re: New seats for 17' Blue hole?

Tim: If you'd like to put in the last seats that the boat will ever need, locate a Nova Craft dealer and pick up a pair of Nova Craft seats. They cost just a bit more than cane or "lawn chair webbing" seats, but they are laced with nylon cord and seem to be bomb proof and darned near everl...
