Re: Questions for you raft guys/gals
That's a decent sketch POPBI. One more thing to consider: If you wind up using NRS springs and keepers on your oar locks make sure you install the spring PBI-style which is right under the lock and not below the receptacle. Doing it this way acts as sort of a shock absorber especially when using oar...

404_Oar_Geometry_Triangle-Model.jpg Hey Steve, Here's my take on it: To best determine oar length one must take into account the overall geometry of the raft/frame setup. Specifically, the raft's tube diameter, draft under typical loading, rower's torso length and seat/oar tower height (absolutely ...

Re: North Fork White River
Hey Nathan, The NFW is a beautiful float especially in the fall. Hammond Camp to Tecumseh bridge on Norfork Lake is a good 2-day trip. Beware the portage at Dawt Mill and the low clearance bridge immediately below. There is ample gravel bar camping although is mostly private land above the bars. Sev...

Re: Current River: 2014 Labor Day Float
Protest, schmotest! Sir Fletch’s unreasonable questioning of the results of the “First Annual Rock Skipping Contest on the Current River over Labor Day Weekend” almost doesn’t merit comment…but here I go anyway. What Fletch has failed to disclose is that a member of the “House of Fletch” served as o...

Re: Whitewater Machine Works row frame on Aire Super Puma
RIP pink Shooting Star. She exploded on the trailer in the hot sun at S&T. No amount of TearAid could revive her. She donated her logos which could surreptitiously be glued over an AIRE logo in the middle of the night.

Personally Luke, I prefer the use of the Three Rivers Community College comma (non-series) thus maintaining standards recognized by most British English style experts with the exception of Oxford, of course.

I'll be there with the Super Puma and a couple boys, ages 10 and 11. Also, Shirley Mitchell plans to come.
