Re: Mas Agua (Appropriately named band for Whitewater School

Awesome. Here's Tiny playboat, to the tune of Janis Jopin's "Mercedes Benz": Oh Lord, won’t you buy me A tiny playboat. My friends all do cartwheels, While I sit and float. I’ve surfed all the holes here Till my shoulder is broke. Oh Lord, won’t you buy me A tiny playboat. Oh Lord, won’t y...

Re: Richland This Afternoon?

Great to see all my Arkie friends out on Richland. Pretty sure I've never had a better day on the creek The weather was certainly cooperating - 75 and sunny all day. Bunch of great people out there - seemed like a friendly face in every eddy. Looking forward to seeing y'all again at Canoe School thi...

Re: what rivers to run???

+1 for Chattooga Sect 3. Best combo of scenery and rapids for a class 3 boater. And you get to size yourself up against a class 4+ drop (5?) at the end that has a well-worn portage trail. I've run it down to less than a foot on the gauge and had fun, but it's much better about 1.4 and up. Over 2.5, ...

Re: Anyone running the grand anytime soonish?

2500 would be big time indeed, 500 was quite respectable. Better know the ways through the trees at that level - scary to think about making a wrong move... Respect.

Re: New Gages on the Ill Bayou!

Are these new Internet gauges? USGS? I'm crazy busy these days, but if you can point me to the USGS pages and get me a range of levels for different runs/creeks, I'd be happy to update the gauge page. And thanks for posting all those shots of the creeks - makes me homesick for some boating in the Na...

Re: Baker?

It's not an exact correlation to the Tot gauge, but the general rule is that if the Tot is "big" you can run Baker. It's no doubt been run at everything from 3.0 on the Tot gauge and up tho, just more likely when Tot is over 5 ft. Google Earth watershed overlays provide a pretty good way t...

Hey Jermdog, make sure you schedule some big water on Oak Cr. for Zach when he comes out, since he missed it when we were there last year. :)

Re: Sugar Creek - Sunday

Heard about this from Giant Ryan. Sounds like a bomber level - wish I could have joined the Crack-O-Stupid team this time, but I'm saving my get-out-of-everything card for the coming big creekin weekend that should be just around the corner. BTW, I'm going to be bringing the fam to Canoe School - lo...

Water quality and HB 1929?

Got the following on an Audubon mailing list I'm on and wanted to check to see if ACC was on this (sorry if this has already been beaten to death out here, but I don't get on the board as much as I used to): On March 28, the Arkansas Senate passed House Bill 1929, a bill that allows increased pollut...
