Re: PADDLE-MOUNTAIN BIKE COMBO HELP

If you opt for Dragover, you are close to both the Womble and the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail. The Vista has multiple sections with easy access. You can get more information at http://lakeouachitavistatrail.com/WP/the-big-picture" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Re: Would this work?

Would a 4-foot breathing tube work for a trapped boater whose head is just beneath the surface of the water? Perhaps. And it certainly would be nice to have it available. But here are some challenges you should be prepared to deal with. You may not be able to get close enough to a pinned boater to h...

Re: Aquabound Edge

I've been using an Aquabound Edge for 3 years. It's my go-to paddle when the water is low or I'm going to be on a very rocky stream. I have a lighter paddle from Werner, but I use the Edge when I know my paddle is going to get some abuse.

You won't regret adding an Edge to your collection.

Re: Canoe ok on my car?

I like using 6mm climbing cord which is sold by the foot. You can probably find it at a local outdoor store. You can see REI's offering at http://www.rei.com/product/716225/pmi-accessory-cord-6mm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Get two 10-foot sections. I like using a Follo...

Re: Canoe needs ride from LR to FS

I'll be at home on Wednesday night. No problem having the boat picked up on 10/31.

You can either send a check with Farmbus, or just put the check in the mail.

Re: Canoe ok on my car?

Foreverphishing, I still haven't seen your e-mail come through. If you are having trouble with the sbcglobal.net address, try ssheph at gmail dot com. I sent a PM with background information on Blue Hole Canoe Company. This boat was molded in the Sunbright, TN facility. I have pictures but can't att...

Re: Want to buy yakima fairing

I use a Windjammer on my front Yakima bar, and it does a good job of silencing the wind noise. I've also had great results putting pipe insulation on the front bar. Anything that breaks up the air flow will reduce the wind noise.

I've stayed at Lost Mine Campground. It's close to the NOC and should be quiet this time of year.

Re: Friday Pre-Labor Day Lil Mo

Mike, if you find the number for the powerhouse, please post on this thread or the Monday thread. I doubt that there will be any flooding further downstream from the dam by Monday, but it wouldn't hurt to call that morning to ensure the release is going to happen.

No reply from SWEPCO, but they did post the spreadsheet for the week of 9/3 - 9/9. On Labor Day they will run 3 generators starting at 3 PM.
