Re: Missouri Ozarks Paddling: March 2016
My first time to paddle with Al, Ana and their great group of paddlers from Iowa and points North. I spent some 5 or 6 days at Boiling Springs Resort. Al runs this event as good as it gets. Sets up each day's run with plenty of intermediate shuttles, is very safety oriented and makes sure everyone k...

Ransom Virus Public Service Info
I am publishing this because this forum is one of the best ways I know to get a warning out. The ransom or Crypto virus has been around for a while. Constantly being updated. I thought I was pretty well protected. I let my guard down and am paying the price. I recently did a online purchase. Some da...

Re: Barrel Hand Pump
I think Tim and myself purchased the pumps about the same time, when the pumps were first advertised on this msg board. I am very happy with Mitch's pump. Looks just like and operates just like the several hi dollar units I have purchased over the years. The size is just about right as well. Price i...

Garmin buys DeLorme
https://bangordailynews.com/2016/02/11/business/gps-firm-garmin-to-buy-iconic-maine-mapmaker-delorme/ I am a big fan of both companies. Sure hope they do not do away with all the DeLorme paper maps and atlas products. I had the opportunity to shop in their store in Yarmouth Maine. If you are in the ...

Re: Buffalo Canoes
Over the years I have owned several Blue Hole Canoes. Great canoes and the original Blue Hole with a block of Styrofoam in the center was the hot WW boat in the Southeast streams I grew up on. Thanks to Roger for the measurements. If it were me, I would find a suitable tube, use a vise to flatten th...

Re: Buffalo Canoes
Here is the outfitter I use for canoe parts https://www.boundarywaterscatalog.com/canoe-gear-custom If you get to Ely MN on a Boundary trip, this is the place to check for information and any thing needed for your canoe. They have a end of season sale of their rental gear and canoes that is very int...

Re: Looking at cataraft frames
Rob, email me if you have interest in my Jacks Plastic 14 ft cutthroat based but with changes by me. I have the frame set up for one person but the tubes are capable of the two person design. No way would I sell it but would be glad to give you feedback and my thought process to end up with what I h...

Re: The good 'ol days
WOW, what a great series of the "good ole days" Amazing how light weight our gear has ended up. I keep looking at modern versions of those canvas open front tents. Some now have bug screens added on and should be great to camp in, given a site with space and ground for all the ropes and pe...

Re: News Letter
Hi Ryan,
There is a computer generated PDF version that gets emailed out a lot earlier than the paper copies.
If you are ok with the PDF version, email deuce who posts quite a bit on this board and ask to add you to the PDF list.
I get my copy via the PDF route and it is kinda neat.

Re: WHAT'D YA PADDLE IN 2015
The usual stuff for me. I am a Lewis and Clark history big time fan. Got to paddle the Upper Missouri River Lewis and Clark National River trail up in Montana. A long float and takes outfitter help but really worth the effort. After seeing the Falls of the Missouri, over in Idaho the LoLo trail and ...
