Re: Early Thrusday 9/10

Just throwing this out there: I could maybe tag along to assist where possible or shoot pictures or vids. I've never run (or even seen in person) the lee creek, and I doubt I'm experienced enough to float it, but I'd love to go see what all the fuss is about. If anyone has room to spare going down t...

Re: Buffalo Got rained on

Just wanna say "thanks" to Eric for having me along. Was a good float, we dragged some, but never had to get out of the boat. About midway through we got about 20-30 minutes of a good rain. Still, great float. Also saw a beautiful Bald Eagle on a bluff. Its kinda hard to see something when...

Re: Decent Hotel in Hot Springs

Stay away from the Arlington! I stayed there for 3 days in April while I was in town for the SkillsUSA state competition. There was about 12 guys in my group, and about half of us were miserable by the end of it. The rooms are musty, and chock full of heaven knows what allergens and irritants. Scott...

Re: drybags.. Larger better? or more smaller ones?

My $ 0.02 : If you put everything in one large bag and it fails or you lose it...You're not gonna have a very comfortable sleep. Medium sized, well organized bags work well. As has already been said, if you throw everything into a large bag, the one item you want will invariably be on the bottom. :x...

Re: Beaver Lake Cleanup September 26,2009

I'm interested in helping out, Eric. May take mom and mohawk. if not, can I borrow a perception for the event? If I still had my old flat-bottom, i'd motor out to clean up. :(
PM, Email, or call, you know how to get aholdt of me.

Arkansas' newest little paddler

Last saturday, I had the opportunity to float with my family on the Buffalo. Present were my mom, myself, my brother, Rod, my sister-in-law, Priscilla, and my 23 month old nephew, Mason. We rented a Star raft from silver hill grocery (real nice folks, and reasonable prices) and paddled from Grinder'...

Re: dragons

Dan, that's an awesome pic. I always enjoy dragonflies on the river. Especially if you can get on to land on your hand or head.

Re: Rendezvous

Who should I contact if I'm interested in volunteering again for Rendesvous? (I helped run the barbeque smoker last year)
Also, I've heard rumors that the location may be changing next year... any comments? PM me ifnecessary or e-mail.

Re: pick a Buffalo section...

I say from Mt. Hershey to Woolum, its not my absolute favorite section, but its higher on my list than Buff Point to Rush. My biggest beef with the lower sections of the river is the number of john boats you get there in the summer that come upstream from the White. Although Hy-Burr bluff and gravel...
