Re: Fayetteville Kayak Park
For the benefit of the thousands of people not on facebook (including myself), spill. A copy and paste would do nicely. Thanks.

Richland Gauge Being Fixed
USGS is aware of the malfunction in the Richland gauge. They are out there today (1/19) fixing the problem. Apparently some debris knocked a wire loose and they have to recalibrate. Spread the word.

Lost booties at Rockport - 8/27
I managed to leave a pair of booties by the water yesterday. I am hoping that someone pick them up on their way home. I can describe and provide refreshments.

Re: Thoughts on North Carolina and Colorado.
Hold on. I feel like I must put forth a voice of reason here. If you are considering CO, AR, and NC based SOLELY on quality of life/paddling/hiking/outdoor opportunities, then AR should not be in consideration. CO and NC blow AR out of the water unfortunately. If you live in NC, you literally can pa...

Re: Siloam Springs Kayak Park Fishing Ordinance
Yeah, I'm pretty surprised that any state or local official could possibly consider the Illinois non navigable- there is a U.S. Supreme Court case directly stating that this river section is navigable (Arkansas v. Oklahoma), which is rare. The city can certainly restrict what occurs on its riparian ...

Re: Slalom Races
Matt, There are some movers and shakers trying to get some gates set up at dierks. I think there are a few areas set for poles; some volunteer work could get this stuff done within the next year. Heath knows way more than I do, but dierks will probably be the best slalom area in the state in the fut...

Re: Ideal location...
I'll bite. For just outdoor pursuits- well it's gotta be Russellville- access to all of the ozarks, easy drive to the Ouachitas. For big city location.... I actually think that LR is in a better location in the state than anything in NWA. Plus rockport > the ford (at the current design).
