Re: Caddo below DeGray?

You'll have lots of tubers/rafters to dodge and observe. Can be a zoo at put in. Water will start coming up early afternoon as generation starts. Short stretch--just two miles. Add more miles by going all way to Arkadelphia.

Re: Ozarks paddler hoping to get acquainted in LR

Roll sessions will be a good way to meet some of the LR area paddlers. Check out the ACC on Facebook, too. It appears to get a lot more attention and traffic these days than the message board.

Re: Rex Hancock and Maddox bay ?

Welcome to the forum, Rex. Not nearly as active as it once was--much of the conversation has shifted to Facebook. But you might check out the Arkansas Blackwater group there for more info on your questions.

Did find a CL listing for a boat with what you describe:

Re: What is it called and are they still available?

Have never seen one outfitted that way. Not sure the additional weight would be worth keeping gear off the bottom. With good dry bags/boxes and some occasional sponging, a little water in the boat isn't really a problem. Complete guess here, but I'd be surprised if they're commercially available. Bu...

Re: $25 Buffalo Canoe Project. Can I fix it?

If you can get materials for $100 or so for a patch that will hold, and don't mind putting in the time, then you'll have a boat you can paddle. Will also make for a backup or loaner when you're able to move up to the next boat. I haven't worked polyester cloth or that particular resin. Only thing I'...

Re: $25 Buffalo Canoe Project. Can I fix it?

Max Wellhouse gave me a lesson years ago on patching boats with kevlar layers for strength then fiberglass for smooth edges. The Kevlar to use is cloth, not the thick grunch pad material your boat has on it. For any patch to work, you'll first have to carefully grind off the loose outer layer down t...

Looking at a low water 'tot run Thursday morning. Might get a little rain bump tonight, too. Tentatively meeting at falls at 9:30.

No reservation required. Water level is rising but already enough to do some fun stuff in falls.

Cossatot Friday afternoon

With last night's rain, looks like 'tot will hold for a decent run tomorrow afternoon. Will be at falls for shuttle about 1:45. Anyone else looking for a good start to the weekend? 870 246 5591

Re: Outfitter with best selection?

OOO is a great place to spend some time checking out boats and gear. They're fine with you pulling down boats from where they're hanging to try them on for size. Anything they don't have in stock they can get pretty quickly. And they know kayaking; they're not just a showroom with sales personnel tr...

Re: Outfitter with best selection?

I don't have any experience with TX area outfitters. OOO in Hot Springs has good selection of boats and gear but you could call them and ask about specific numbers, Kokatat in stock, etc. I think a few phone calls would get you the specific info you're looking for and perhaps save some travel time. ...

Crooked Creek Today?

Level looks good and may be a sane place to paddle today.
