Re: It almost happened today
Requiring PFD's would be bad. Signage is all that is needed. Stupid is a stupid does, and liability stops at the ordinary high water mark for the park. That is all.

Re: 'Tot Gauge Off?
Yes! A baker gauge! Now you're talking. As an aside, I think that my personal minimum level for baker is much lower than the traditional one(5.0 ft on the tot gauge, over the slab on the side of the baker takeout). I had an enjoyable run about two months ago, with low water but still quite enough, w...

Re: It almost happened today
So the real question is- why was there a submerged rope in between the two features? this makes almost no sense.
That is a terrifying event, as an aside. Thank god that help was available- what about the beginner who swims off the first feature? There hasn't been anything submerged until now...

Re: 'Tot Gauge Off?
My experience has been that the Tot gauge has been reading lower that it actually is for close to 1.5 years. This is a welcome surprise every time I get paddle there, but could be a real problem for the inexperienced (or swimmers who flock there in the summer). I think that the higher it gets, the l...

Re: I love science. ..CAFOS ..not so much.
Half ton, We've talked about this before. Wouldn't a holistic mindset mean more than one approach? I still advocate the divide and conquer technique, and I think that litigation plays an important role in that route. Also from my contact with locals, they're not exactly loving the hog farm. I think ...

Re: Old School Boats
The less we talk about old boats, the more there are available for those that love them. Just saying.
It's a paddling progression- if you're comfortable in your boat, then you've been in it too long and need to try a different one. Always push your comfort level.

Really want to voice your opposition? Don't mind driving to the actual Buffalo?

Re: Fishers Ford 2/22
Lemon, Now that I caught a free minute, more info for you: 1. The Ford can be a little difficult to find. When in doubt, just look at the ozark creek info directions and do what it says. 2. The top wave is a proper wave- no hole, so I would think it is perfect for SUPing. I don't have SUP knowledge,...

Re: Fishers Ford 2/22
The Ford will likely be the best SUP wave around. If nothing else, it will certainly be an excellent place to practice SUP ferrying/eddying out. But, again, the ford will be worth your time.
