Re: Help me decide: Stomper 90 or Superhero
Is it the new shorter Super Hero (7' 9")? If so, I spent all summer teaching in one and like it a lot. It's a lot shorter than the other river runners I've paddled, which is a little weird at first. I've found it to be ridiculously forgiving though. I definitely prefer the Jackson outfitting ov...

Re: White Water Skirt
I am looking for a new skirt for my kayak. My current skirt fits great but it lets water in between the skirt and boat. It is a Immersion Research Shockwave Bungee and I want to get a tighter sealing rubber with the extra flap to keep water out. What should I be looking for, brand/model, and where ...

Re: Great River Book!!
So far (I am half way thru the book) the overwhelming cause of death numbers are people falling off the rim or hiking the trails running out of water and falling in their attempt to reach water. I am astounded by the number of people falling to their death while taking photos off the canyon rim. If...

Re: Video: Cossatot on Wednesday, Ed Banks to Highway 278
It looks like the Machine treated you pretty well. I've heard it gets pretty trashy at lower levels. A few years back at a higher level, I went over the big rock that's sticking up at an angle downstream upside down...broke a finger...then went for a nice swim down Whiplash. It looks like you faired...

Colorado
I'm heading out to Colorado for family vacation the first week in June. I want to get in a little boating, but I don't want to leave the wife and kids waiting around for me all day. It's my first time out there, so I'm up for suggestions on a route to take through the state and some roadside stuff t...

Re: Kayak 1 Class Video
We put in at High Bank and took out at Redding. I had never run the section from Byrd's to Redding. I really liked the scenery. It had a different look to it.

Re: Humbled by the Nanty
Seen this one yet? It's pretty washed out, but they start getting some nice waves towards the end.

Re: Humbled by the Nanty
I paddled out to the current and off we went at 2/3 the speed of sound. As we rounded the corner there was the first set of big waves. As I tried to paddle to the right and avoid this wave train I quickly realized how pushy the water was. Unable to avoid the meat I was pushed into the largest of th...

Re: 2013 WW School
Have a playboating class. I think we would get a group that would not normally be in a class. Don't know if we could do that or not but I think that would be cool That's a great idea! I stopped by to visit the Ozark Mountain Paddlers at the Mulberry one year. They had Clay Wright teaching a playboa...

I've used ForwardAir in the past, but you'd have to check on the nearest terminals.

Re: What's everyone bringing to the Swap Meet?
I haven't really thought about it yet. I know I have a box of old gear, but I'll have to dig through it. I have a 197cm 30 degree AT2 Super Light paddle that I may sell.

Re: Stretching out gaskets
Other technique for neck gaskets is a divers neck ring, not found as much anymore. It is a form of stretching in that a hard plastic hinged neck ring is inserted underneath the latex neck seal to reduce pressure on the throat and cervical discs until just before immersion, like for divers going out...

Re: Stretching out gaskets
I read somewhere that you shouldn't stretch them for more than a couple of days and then trim them for the rest of the fit. I really wish you could trim wrist gaskets too. Mine are insanely tight right now! Having blown a neck gasket one morning (after a cold night on the middle fork) I like my gask...
