Re: Thursday: Illinois Bayou?

I was thinking Snow creek to Hector bridge. Easy, fast shuttle. Could do loops on Snow creek as well.

Re: UALR POOL SESSIONS 2-4 & 2-7

The lot west of the pool was open Wednesday, gate was up. I asked an officer if I could park, he said as long as the gate is up, it's open to all. Maybe just luck on my part.

This may be a silly question, but what is my proof of ACC membership?

Re: ARG to the Piney

Too high for what? Pete Rose and I were involved in community service Saturday that will both beautify our 'hood and reduce the carbon footprint of the gas-guzzeling behemoths we drive. Thanks to our efforts, this most recent expedition by ARG was carbon-neutral. Had we not honored our committment t...

Re: Coal Plant Public Hearings next three days

I'll jump in on this since I'm getting a snow day and need a substitute for the teaching I'd usually be doing. This is more of an opinion, though. Someone will no doubt correct me, but in the past when the EPA has set tough limits or standards, the industry affected has driven the technology to meet...

Re: Bilge pump and battery set up in canoe. Need help.

Got my switch from Academy sports, just a toggle for a bass boat bilge. Used marine goop to seal it in. Battery is from Batteries.com? basically 10 C-cells in series in a sealed package. Charger and all for about $70. Used on Ocoee for 2 days without recharge. My battery is in plastic bottle, all co...

Re: Lost Paddler on Richland

Hope this doesn't qualify as a highjacking: If I'm bold/stupid/adventurous/unlucky enough to be stuck out in the boonies overnight(unplanned, that is), my whereabouts questionable, should I reasonably expect the sherriff-rescue unit-NPS, etc, to come looking for me? Finding lost kids, sure. But adul...

Re: Lost Paddler on Richland

Been reading all these posts with much interest. As an open boater (most of the time) we always carry an extra paddle and most of us generally carry extra clothes, etc, because we have room (maybe because we come out of our boats more often?). As far as food, someone will no doubt correct me if I'm ...

Re: Lost Paddler on Richland

Time, once again, for the "Hiker's Guide to Richland Creek"? MJ? :poke:

Terry, can't hardly imagine hiking out of a gorge dragging a canoe. At least you might be able to use it for shelter or the bags to sleep on.

How practical are break-down spare paddles?
