Wow CNN

This is from CNN's website, detailing the location of where a grandfather, his son, and his grandson sold pot for a very long time. Notice how Polk County, Tennessee is somehow connected to South Carolina... I guess we had a new tectonic plate form and shift overnight, to wipe out North Carolina. I ...

Re: Last Call!!!!!

Any chance you convinced everyone to leave early? According to American Whitewater, the Tellico is still at a paddling level, and it's going to rain thursday night and a little friday.

Re: Last Call!!!!!

I'm going to suggest leaving Thursday for several reasons. 1. You can split the trip between three or four people. One drives from the Port to Jackson, another from Jackson to Birmingham, and another from Birmingham to Chattanooga (or just finish and push the last hour to the Ocoee). Everyone else s...

Re: Last Call!!!!!

Guys- when are you planning on getting out here on Friday? I ran the Tellico ledges yesterday, and there seemed to be a good amount of water. If you can come up early on Friday, and if the water holds, then i'll show you the lines down. It's only an hour drive and is well worth the trip. But as for ...

Re: Question about NOC

Just gonna say it- I'd take instruction from Heath over a hotshot NOC instructor any day of the week. I'm also going to back up the notion of putting the money elsewhere- you can always get better gear (or gear for colder weather) or use it to finance shuttle (or a mountain bike, if there happens to...

Re: Saturday at the Cossatot

Renee- I'm another victim of the high fall of the hike up. It's a pretty rough landing on tht rock shelf at the bottom. When I fell, I instantly realized why my dad has preached wearing a helmet until back at the campgrounds. Glad to hear you're ok though...

I'm running from Ed banks down to the falls on the Tot (hopefully) and need someone else to run shuttle with. That's II-III all the way...318-272-3293

Tot Thursday

I'm looking to be on Baker or the Tot by 9 tomorrow. Anyone interested? I just finished finals and need to celebrate. I'm trying to convince Ryan to drive up- we'll see how it goes. If anyone's interested, please come- I walked this shuttle once before and it's not something i want to do again. Any ...

Re: Buffalo River Question

The only problem is that we'll be driving in from out of state, so I only have one car to run shuttle. Preferably, I'm looking for the cheapest to rent two canoes and somehow make the shuttle.

Buffalo River Question

I'm planning on heading up to float the Buffalo with some friends who don't have much experience, and I was thinking of doing an overnight float from Ponca down to highway 7. Do y'all have any suggestions as to who is the best/cheapest outfitter to contact for shuttle/rental? We're all students, so ...

The toe rocks. You're not buying real chacos unless you get them with the toe.

Re: New Life and Paddling Moto:

I'm at Eagle Adventures Ranch- right on the N.C. and Tenn. state line. It's about 20 minutes from the put-in. I forgot, what outfitter are you at? I really just need a list of a few rivers around the Ocoee- I'm trying to make a list of runs I'd like to hit up when possible. And Zach- right on the mo...

Re: New Life and Paddling Moto:

So many questions... 1) Why would Renee want to be a man? 2) Do you think you're "man" enough to play "follow the leader" with Tracy T? 3) Do any of the men here wish Renee, Tracy, or (insert personal favorite female paddler name here) were men? :poke:  Never did intend to put women in this. ...

New Life and Paddling Motto:

You're not a man until you paddle the Tellico Ledges.

We got to hit it up Friday with the level at 1.9. Awesome time. I highly suggest it.
