Re: Helton's Farm Big Piney access?
Glen Helton has been waiting at his house on busy days. Sometimes he will wait up by the cemetery. He doesn't get around too well so you'll need to get out and talk to him. Prices haven't changed. If he is not there then leave the money in the tin can on the front porch with a rock on top. During th...

Re: suggestions needed for new kayak
It doesn't sound like you are wanting a boat for getting into whitewater so for that reason a crossover might not be the right fit. There's a lot of mid range fishing boats out there but take a look at a Jackson Coosa. Tons of storage space underneath and a place for a cooler on the back and rod hol...

Re: Any boaters near Russellville?
The best after work play run around here is going to be putting in on the North Fork of Illinois Bayou on Granny Gap Rd then paddling a couple hundred yards to the bayou and taking out at Scottsville bridge.

Crossed it a few weeks ago in a Tacoma. There are two places to cross and both were shallow. The sand on the Richland side will be the bigger issue but still not bad. Don't know if I would cross Richland again. It was deeper than what appeared

Fiberglass Repair
I have a fiberglass Supreme trout/river boat that has started to show wear through the gray paint on the inside of the boat in high traffic area. Does anyone have recommendations for the type of paint and process for painting the inside of a fiberglass boat?

Re: Need suggestions for hauling canoe
What paddledog said plus a Darby Turbo Rack is another cheap option and you will still have room for gear in the bed. Most of the bed extenders can go out for bed hauling or up for roof hauling. Harbor Frieght usually carries the bed extenders and will run sales often if there is a Habor Frieght nea...

Re: Little Missouri River Sunday July 24
Bob, my wife Melanie and I are planning on coming but I'll let you know if our plans fall through. We might paddle Saturday then camp and float with y'all on Sunday if I can figure out a shuttle for Saturday. I talked to you for a little while on Piney this year on one of the last weekends that Helt...

Re: Little Missouri River Friday July 15
Saw next weekend's releases and I'm not familiar with the area. Are there any good campgrounds around? I usually don't like camping in campgrounds so National Forrest land with a shaded camping area is also good. Is anyone else going so we won't have to bring a shuttle vehicle?

Any clue as to when the generators will shut off? Since the generators are turning on early, will they be shutting off early as well? Is anyone else going tomorrow that would be interested in shuttling?

Spring River
With the creeks drying up fast I am thinking about other floats that will keep running. It has been a few years since I've floated the Spring but the last couple times I had floated there it had really gotten out of hand. I am no prude by any means but the beer pong table set up within 10' of my ham...

Re: Best Tandem Whitewater Canoe
You're looking for a type of boat that is hard to find used. Two Brothers Arkota is an awesome boat for what you are looking for but hard to find. Moise is also a good boat but if I was looking for a new boat, I personally would get in line for an Esquif Pocket Canyon or Canyon depending on what is ...
